Via Android Police, Sameer Samat — President, Android Ecosystem — said:
“This year, we will do more to highlight what is in the release,” Samat said. “We know we have many fans around the world who want to understand more of the depth of it.”
That’s a pretty huge deal, considering last year they focused almost exclusively on Gemini (don’t believe me? Here’s the archive of the keynote!) and not on what was new in Android 15. I’m really looking forward to returning to a keynote where they talk about what’s in Android 16 and why it’s cool. That’d be great.
Google I/O takes place May 20th-21st; Android 16 releases in June 2025, which is just a few short weeks after the conference!
